I’m still unable to grasp how the variations keep coming after generations of the same plot, antics, situations and events, but they do. In conventional terms we will leave shounen-ai, yaoi and yuri out of this and focus on the boy and the girl. ![]() The funny thing with romance shoujo is the magnitude of a universe they are able to thrust upon us. This is a shoujo, a romance, and a comedy. ( ?) Technical-inclined score: 5.75 ・ Performance-inclined score: 7.4 The substance of a prince has seeped through his skin and soaked in to his bones. But when he’s fooling around in Fairy Tail or even with Lucy, he is dunked in jubilation and an artless form of relish. Loke is princely for his women and he savors it, he is ravenous for it. Usui is a little different for Usui is innate in his princely actions. There is something fabricated in their grand affair like a skit in a theatrical play. ![]() They are grandiose, dignified, illustrious… But rarely do they not effuse an imposing, lofty flair. ![]() Loke too is a mighty fine prince, if not flirty. There is a clear influx of prince-like characters in anime, shoujo or otherwise > Fairy Tail for one features a ridiculous number in Blue Pegasus alone. These days whenever I look at Usui, blonde prince and enigmatic, I feel my toes curling and face heating in shyness.
